Skunks are BAD

I'm sending out this message to all huskies (and otherpups) out there. Stay away from those things called skunks.

I won't go into too much detail, but there was an 'incident' last night, and I have not fully recovered. Apparently, these skunks are part of a secret ninja society of rodents (such as opossums and squirrels) that have secret weapons unheard of by the mainstream canine. As a result of my altercation with one such ninja rodent, I was subjected to not 1, not 2, but 3 baths last night, all with very powerful, stinky and sometimes fizzy concoctions. My Mom was also none to happy, and I was banished to living room to sleep.

Her and the DeeLan were quite agitated (I dunno what they are so upset about... they're not the ones who can't smell anything anymore and are still damp and defluffed from the multitude of baths) this morning, complaining that everything in the house stinks.

So yeah... stay away from skunks. My advice to you... it isn't worth it, even for the glory...

My new bed

I have lots of beds in my house. I have a bed in the living room, a bed in my Mom and DeeLan's bedroom, and now I even have a bed in the extra room (we have a couple of extra rooms, but one of them I'm not allowed to go in 'cause it's the DeeLan's work room... something about dog hair...). The extra room is a room where Mom and the DeeLan go to watch the big picture box and hold onto these little boxes attached to cords. They yell a lot while they watch that picture box (a lot more than when they watch the bigger picture box in the living room). I have no idea what the big deal is, but they seem pretty enthralled. Anyway, I found the best bed ever in the extra room. It's what Mom and DeeLan sit on when they play with the little corded boxes...

It's perfect! Big and squishy! I have to jump up to get on it, but that's okay. I make a perfect little nest right in the middle, and it's so comfy! I think I may have to talk to Mom to make the extra room MY room. After all, Mom and the DeeLan have their own rooms... I need one too!

Fun Weekend

I had a really fun weekend. I got to go to the dogpark with my cousin Clemmie (we were makin' fun of the other dogs and she thought it was pretty funny...) Then, Mom and Auntie took us to Extraordinary Desserts and we got to sit outside and people watch (and our Mom's gave us little peices of their desserts!)

It was really fun... 'cept for the part where our Mom's left us at Auntie's house... Clemmie always dares me to do stuff and then I get in trouble for it (stoopid girls). She dared me to get a star fish out of the bowl by the couch, so I did... but it was kinda crunchy, so I chewed it a bit... Mom was pretty mad about that!

Puppy Pictures

I too adopted my Mom when I was an older pup (they think I was 8-10 months old), so no photographic evidence exists (at least not that we know of) of my young puppy years. But, Mom does have lots and lots of photos of when she first was adopted by me. She was a camera nut, and I even overheard her ask another dog Mom if it was 'normal' to have 3 rolls of film of nothing but dogs. The other dog Mom, of course, said 'Perfectly normal!' Harroooooo...

I was such a strapping, handsome young pup! This picture was taken when Mom and I lived in Merry Land, and I was still sleeping on the bed at night. Those days are long gone, but I still sometimes jump on the bed really early in the morning to sit on Mom and DeeLan's head. I think they like it... the squirm an awful lot.

Back in those days I also used to be allowed on the couch. Now, I'm stuck on my dogbed... I still get on the couch when no one is home, but they always seem to know about it... not sure how; maybe they have hidden cameras in the living room? Anypup have any idea how the humans always know!?!?

My Foot

So, Mom finally took some pictures of my ouchie foot treatment. I'm not real fond of it as I have to stay still for 5 whole minutes!!! First she has to soak my foot in this blue stuff. It's kinda stinky, but she makes the water warm so it feels sorta nice.

Then, she dries off my foot and puts this yellow goo on my ouchie claw. I hate that part and try to squirm away, but I swear, the woman has the grip of a monkey!!! After that, she puts my sock on and ties it up with the stoopid yellow ribbon.

At least the ribbon isn't pink or anything. I don't think I could stand for that!!! I kinda wish it was blue to match my collar and my eyes, but she... ummm... nevermind...

So, like I said before, I keep it on (most of the time) since it helps give me traction on the tile floors. But one time, my cousin Clemmie came over when I had my sock foot and she started making fun of me, so I took it off. Mom wasn't too happy about that...

I have to get surgery

My Mom took me to the vet last week (ack...) 'cause she was a little worried about me.

See, my eye has been kind of leaky for a while now and she's been looking at it a lot trying to figure out what's wrong with it. It has this brown goo coming out and I get eye boogers in that eye a lot. The vet looked at my eye with a really bright light (I HATE that!) and turns out there is a little tumor on the inside of my eyelid that's rubbing my eye and making it get boogers. So, I gotta have it taken off... bummer.

PLUS, I've been kinda chewing on one of my claws lately (one of the black ones on the black/white/black/white paw), and the vet found out I have a little infection on it. Since I have IBS (human terms: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, doggie terms: icky tummy), the vet tries not to give me pill antibiotics unless she absolutely has too, so Mom has to soak my foot in this blue stuff and then put this yellow stuff on my claw, and THEN, so I don't lick it more, she puts a sock on me!!! Can you believe the nerve? She ties the sock on with a yellow ribbon, like I'm a girl or something!!! (I'd rip the thing to pieces, but turns out it gives me much better traction on the slippery tile floors, so I keep it on for the added speed when running down the hallway!)

Mom says she's gonna get pictures of my blue sock foot so I can show it off...

The Missing Cuz

So, I mentioned that I had an orange Cuz in my last post (I thought it was a Good Cuz, but we have evidence that it was a Bad Cuz... fitting, since the only Good Cuz really belonged to my goody-four-paws cousin, Clemmie) but Mom couldn't find it.

Well, as seen in this picture (I'm squinting 'cause it's bright outside), the orange Cuz was last seen sometime in February. I must have left him outside (as with all my Cuz's). So, he's either buried in the leaves, or I buried him in a hole... or the stoopid bunnies took it... not sure if they could carry a Cuz, but you never know...
